Welcome to something fresh on the Republican landscape and we’d like to think, spot-on! We work for neither a split between Conservatives and Moderates, nor a war between the two Parties.  Instead we stand for a pretty practical, down to earth concept. In a word, we want to get back to our roots.

We fight for health care, education, environmental protection, civil liberties and a strong defense - and yes, despite the recent antics and canyon-like fall in the economy, we stand more than ever for fiscal restraint. We must not let our country become bankrupt.

Republicans were soundly defeated in 2008. We lost touch with our principles as well as the needs and feelings of working Americans. We the Centrists – the Moderates, want to build back the true Republican base. The reason is simple. The two party system works. We’ve enjoyed it for nearly two hundred years and it’s essential to a sound, balanced government.

We’re looking for the best ideas to confront today’s challenges. The success of this new Republican initiative is to tap the minds of people like you. We all must work toward a message of renewal and excitement.

We're glad you're here and ask you to join us.  With your support, we can make a difference and so thank you and welcome!

David Gergen on Being a Moderate

Moderates are About Results

I'd like to thank Republicans Who Care for this important forum.  All through the laborious and torturous campaign of '08, folks talked of "doing something," "being about the nation's business," "working together," and wanting to "cut out the silly bickering and political posturing." The American people are longing for that and more importantly, they're expecting it.

Now we must stop prattling about working together and just do it. Work together, enjoy each other, talk together, break bread together and yes, laugh together. Let's give up taking ourselves so seriously - because sad to say, the American public doesn't take us seriously at all.  Dull your combat skills and sharpen your collaborative ones.

These are lean times in our country, and yet there's a full plate in D.C.: health care reform, Medicare, Social Security, immigration, energy and foreign policy - to name a few. My advice, stop bludgeoning and start legislating!

I support Republicans Who Care and hope you will as well.
